RebarCAD software was deployed by L&T for this project to spin out 70 drawings and Bar Bending Schedules ( BBS ) in record time. L&T’s Mr Balaji Prakash E - Asst. Manager ( Quantity Surveying ) says: “The performance enhancement tools of RebarCAD are helping us multiply our productivity by an astounding factor.” The RebarCAD drawings were used to help speed up the placing of the reinforcing steel bars on site, whilst the electronic BBS data was linked to the ‘cut & bend’ facility to make the bars faster whilst at the same time signi-ficantly reducing scrap!

The project involved complicated reinforcement drawings for  industrial structures to be detailed  in a short space of time. Several thousand tonnes of reinforcement was detailed on  about 500 drawings in a record duration.
