Rockfall constitutes one of the most hazardous landslide phenomena and can cause fatalities and damages for highways and railways in mountainous terrain. For this reason, preventive and protective structures are installed to reduce rockfall risk in inhabited areas.

There are many factors one should consider when selecting appropriate system to mitigate natural hazards. It is important to understand the suitability and effectiveness of the Rock Fall Protection systems and where they offer optimal performance is important.

GTITM RockNet

RockNet are designed and manufactured to reach formidable tensile strengths up to 300kN/M at very low strain. A single continuous length of steel wire rope of 8-10 mm diameter and 1770 N/mm2 grade (tensile strength) is wound around a frame a netting panel of rhomboidal shaped openings. The openings are of typical size 300 mm by 300 mm. the rectangular netting panel is typically 4-6 m long on each side.

GTI Cross Linked Rhomboidal/ square Mesh steel wire rope panels are typically installed with small aperture secondary DT mesh nettings to enable holding back of small sized debris.

GTITM StrongNet

GTITM StrongNet is manufactured by composite of Steel Wire Ropes of 8 mm-10mm diameter with Mechanically woven Double Twisted Hexagonal with opening Steel Wire netting (IS 16014) to create a product having better stress distribution with high tensile strength at low strain and high punch strength with low deformation. This is achieved by tying the Wire Ropes longitudinally to the edge wires of the Double Twisted mesh lacing wire.

We offer StrongNet range in which Steel Wire Ropes are tied longitudinally to the mesh wires at intervals of 0.3 m to 1.5 m interval. The DT Mesh Netting (IS 16014) type with varying rope spacing is designed to provide various strengths reaching up to 200kN/m.

StrongNet has excellent fall during installation due to the vertical wire ropes and provides excellent function as drapery mesh system. The double twist of the hexagonal mesh prevents unravelling of the netting if a wire gets cut due to any reason. GTITM Strong Net is designed to work efficiently with anchorage system.

GTITM DT Steel Wire Mesh Netting

GTITM DT Steel Wire Netting are factory manufactured rolls made up of mechanically double twisted hexagonal wire mesh using Heavily Galvanized steel wire. DT Mesh Netting are non raveling and the edges of the mesh are reinforced with a thicker wire called the selvedge/edge wire. GTITM DT Steel wire mesh Nettings are used to prevent small size boulders or rocks from falling in rail or road ways, thus minimizing loss of property or life.

In case of applications in marine or highly corrosive environment, we offer an additional protection is provided by extruding 0.5mm thick PVC coating over the heavily galvanized wire.
