On
World MSME (Micro, Small, and Media Enterprises) Day, Vedanta Metal Bazaar, the world’s largest non-ferrous
metals e-store by Vedanta Group, is enabling ease of doing business for customers
including ~50% MSMEs by bringing procurement, pricing, financing, logistics and
technical support together on a single digital platform to enhance their metal
buying experience.
In
FY26, 600 customers placed over 30,000 orders worth nearly USD 5 billion on
Vedanta Metal Bazaar, with more than 450 MSMEs leveraging the e-store for their
metal procurement needs with nearly USD 440 million in transaction value. The e-commerce
platform enables businesses to source quality metals from a globally-reputed manufacturer,
Vedanta, improves price transparency, simplifies purchase decisions and manages
their procurement journey more efficiently.
As India advances its manufacturing
ambitions, Micro, Small, and Media Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to serve as a
critical engine of economic growth across sectors. For MSMEs, access to quality raw materials,
competitive pricing, reliable supply chains and timely financing are critical
to scaling their businesses. However, metal procurement has traditionally
involved multiple touchpoints — from tracking price movements and negotiating
purchases to managing logistics and payment processes.
Beyond
simplifying procurement, Vedanta Metal Bazaar is helping MSMEs improve working
capital efficiency and build more resilient supply chains. During FY26, the
platform facilitated over ₹1,600 crore in channel financing for more than 100
MSMEs, enabling easier access to liquidity and supporting business expansion
through just-in-time (JIT) delivery.
With
more than 1,200 stock-keeping units (SKUs) across metals such as aluminium,
zinc, lead and copper, Vedanta Metal Bazaar provides customers access to a wide
portfolio of products under one digital ecosystem. The e-store combines direct
access to Vedanta’s manufacturing plants with customer-focused features
including transparent list-based pricing, live LME-linked metal prices,
multiple hedging options, integrated logistics support, collateral-free financing
through banking and fintech partners, and technical guidance through Vedanta’s
Centre of Excellence.
Customers
can access Vedanta Metal Bazaar through its web portal, mobile application and
WhatsApp chatbot, enabling seamless procurement anytime, anywhere. With
purchase options starting from just one tonne, the e-store reduces entry
barriers for smaller manufacturers while providing greater control, visibility
and convenience across the procurement process.
Sharing
his experience of partnering with Vedanta Metal Bazaar, Mr. Abhinav Goyal,
Director, VMI Group, who has been a customer for almost 5 years, said,
"Vedanta Metal Bazaar has completely transformed how we procure metals.
The ability to book prices instantly with live LME-linked rates gives us
greater confidence in managing market volatility. With clear visibility of our
ledger, transparent financials, and real-time dispatch updates, we now have
complete control over our metal procurement process. What was once a manual and
time-consuming exercise has become fast, simple and reliable. Vedanta
MetalBazaar is truly setting a new benchmark for the industry."
The
e-store offers aluminium ingots, billets, wire rods, rolled products, copper
cathodes, copper rods, special high-grade zinc, special high-grade jumbo zinc,
zinc die-casting alloys and lead ingots. It also offers customers access to
Vedanta’s low-carbon ‘green’ product range, including Restora (Aluminium) and
EcoZen (Zinc).
Its
Zinc Moolya module further enables customers to view, book and lock real-time
zinc prices in Indian Rupees, helping MSMEs better manage commodity price
volatility and improve procurement planning.
Vedanta
Metal Bazaar continues to witness strong adoption across India’s manufacturing
ecosystem. MSMEs account for nearly half of all active customers on the e-store.
The platform records a customer satisfaction rating of 4.5/5 on the web
platform and 4.6/5 on the Play Store. It serves MSME customers across sectors
such as electrical, automotive, steel, extrusion, industrial components, solar,
galvanising, battery and packaging.
As
digital technologies continue to reshape industrial supply chains, Vedanta
Metal Bazaar is democratizing access to quality metals by enabling MSMEs with
the same transparency, efficiency and digital capabilities traditionally
available to larger enterprises. By simplifying procurement and bringing
financing, logistics and technical expertise together on a single platform,
Vedanta is helping build a more connected, resilient and future-ready MSME
ecosystem aligned with India’s manufacturing ambitions.
