• Vedanta's healthcare initiatives have reached nearly 40 lakh beneficiaries in FY26, delivering preventive, primary and specialised healthcare services across rural, tribal and underserved communities.

On National Doctors' Day, Vedanta Group, one of the world's leading natural resources conglomerates with a strong presence across metals, oil & gas, critical minerals, power and technology, paid tribute to the doctors and healthcare professionals whose expertise and compassion are transforming healthcare access through Vedanta's interventions across India, reaching nearly 40 lakh beneficiaries in FY26 through hundreds of healthcare initiatives across its operational geographies.

Reflecting the Group's commitment to specialised healthcare, BALCO Medical Centre (BMC), a unit of Vedanta Medical Research Foundation, has emerged as one of Central India's leading tertiary cancer care hospitals, where dedicated teams of oncologists, surgeons, physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals are bringing advanced cancer treatment closer to home for thousands of patients. Since its inception, the hospital has treated nearly 70,000 patients, performed close to 13,000 major surgeries, and delivered over 90,000 chemotherapy sessions, significantly expanding access to specialised oncology services in Central India. The institution has become a symbol of hope for thousands of families by enabling patients to receive quality treatment closer to home, reducing the emotional, physical and financial burden often associated with travelling to distant metropolitan cities for cancer care.

Guided by a holistic, life cycle-based healthcare strategy, Vedanta delivers an integrated continuum of care spanning preventive healthcare, primary care, specialised treatment, maternal and child health, mobile health vans, telemedicine and community hospitals. Designed to improve access, affordability and quality of care, particularly in rural, tribal and remote regions, the Group's programmes address healthcare needs across every stage of life—from early childhood to elderly care. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), Vedanta's interventions also focus on adolescent well-being, nutrition security, immunisation, maternal health, early childhood care and screening and management of non-communicable diseases. Through hospitals, primary healthcare centres, mobile medical units, digital health platforms and trained community health workers, Vedanta is strengthening local healthcare ecosystems and expanding last-mile access to quality healthcare.

At the heart of these initiatives are thousands of doctors, specialists, nurses and frontline healthcare professionals whose expertise enables timely diagnosis, treatment and preventive care across diverse geographies. Beyond delivering clinical care, they build trust within communities, promote health awareness and strengthen resilient local healthcare systems.

While BALCO Medical Centre continues to strengthen cancer care infrastructure in Central India, another noteworthy healthcare initiative is Vedanta Hospital in Kalahandi, Odisha. Once vulnerable to seasonal outbreaks like malaria and tuberculosis, and bereft of reliable medical access, Kalahandi in Odisha now boasts a functional rural healthcare ecosystem anchored by the Vedanta Hospital at Lanjigarh. Serving over 60,000 people annually, the hospital offers free consultations, diagnostics, medicines, physiotherapy and specialist services across paediatrics, general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and ENT. Mobile Health Units serve remote tribal villages, reaching another 20,000 residents with consultations and medicines. Recently, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon'ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, inaugurated the hospital's first-of-its-kind 24x7 Telemedicine Facility, launched in partnership with Tata 1mg.

Vedanta's flagship social impact initiative, Nand Ghar, is modernising India's anganwadi ecosystem through tech-enabled centres that integrate nutrition, early childhood care, primary healthcare and women empowerment. The programme supports regular immunisation, digital healthcare access and health camps, while also driving an AI-enabled anaemia screening and nutrition awareness initiative across 300 Nand Ghars in Rajasthan to strengthen preventive healthcare for children, adolescent girls and women.
