Jindal Stainless Wins Seven Awards at the 9th Edition of CII National Energy Efficiency Circle Competition 2025
Collectively, Jajpur and
Hisar units secured seven awards across key categories

(JSL), India’s largest stainless steel manufacturer, has been recognized with
several accolades at the 9th edition of the CII National Energy Circle
Competition 2025 for its excellence in energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and
sustainable operations. The company secured a total of seven awards, four for
its Jajpur plant and three for the Hisar plant, at a ceremony held on July
10-11 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Jindal Stainless’ Jajpur
unit received top honours in the categories of ‘Best Energy Organisation
(Strong Commitment)’, ‘Best Energy Efficient Designated Consumer’ (under the
BEE PAT Scheme), and ‘Effective Implementation of ISO 50001’ (Energy Management
System). This unit was also recognised for its strong organisational commitment
to energy efficiency, and secured the first runner-up position for its case
study on the Chrome Pelletisation Project.
The Hisar unit was awarded
the top honour in the categories of ‘Best Case Study on Low Carbon and Carbon
Neutral Initiatives’ and ‘Effective Implementation of ISO 50001 Energy
Management System (Strong Commitment)’, while also securing the first-runner up
position in the ‘Best Energy Efficient Designated Consumer’ (under the BEE PAT
Scheme) category.

Organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the annual competition witnessed
participation from over 400 businesses, industry, technology provider and
institutions, who shared their success stories in energy efficiency, renewable
energy and climate action. Jindal Stainless stood out for the technical depth
and real-world impact of its submissions.
These recognitions stand as
a testament to Jindal Stainless’ sustained efforts in energy optimisation and
climate-conscious operations as well as its determination to drive
industry-wide transformation. With a clear focus on innovation, compliance, and
long-term environmental stewardship, the company remains committed to building
a resilient, low-carbon future for Indian manufacturing. As part of its
long-term Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, Jindal Stainless is
working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The company’s corporate
carbon footprint was brought down by ~15% in FY25 through ongoing
decarbonisation initiatives.
