Work On The Manali NH Tunnel Should Be Expedited: DC
According to Dr Pankaj Rai, the Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, "Speed up the four-lane construction on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk portion of the national highway and finish the project within the allowed period."
After inspecting the ongoing building work at Tihra village in the district earlier today, he met with the management of Gavar Construction Company to discuss certain administrative matters.
The time it takes to go from Kiratpur to Kullu will be cut in half thanks to a new roadway that will run through five tunnels and 22 bridges across the Satluj River until it reaches Nerchowk.
He said that there were just 102 metres of work still to be done on the 1,265-meter-long tunnel that ran from Malayavar to the settlement of Tihra. He gave the executives of the firm orders to finish the construction on the tunnel by the 30th of June at the latest. Additionally, he issued a declaration that the Mandi-Bharadi bridge is completed and being built by the 30th of May.
Colonel BS Chauhan, the firm's general manager, gave the DC his word that the building of the tunnel and bridge would be finished in the allotted amount of time.
In addition, Rajiv Thakur, who serves as the Sub-Divisional Officer for Ghumarwin, and Amit Thakur, who works as a site engineer for the organisation, were there.
