Nitin Gadkari told the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that India's road infrastructure would rival the US's by 2024.

He stated Delhi to Chandigarh would take 2 1/2 hours, Delhi to Amritsar 4 hours, and Delhi to Mumbai in 12 hours. By 2024, India's roadways will be like America's.

Gadkari, the minister since 2014, has made similar claims about his goals for Indian roadways, setting "world records" in road building, and making Indian motorways seem like American freeways.

On July 12, he remarked, "Our objective is to create an electric highway between Delhi and Mumbai." Like trolleybuses, trolley trucks may be driven.

In Bihar to launch road projects on June 7, he declared "Bihar's road network would rival America's."

On March 22, Gadkari predicted India's road infrastructure would be like the US's by 2024.
