Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has laid the foundation stone for a Rs 1,700 crore ring road project in Karnal. The project, part of Bharatmala Pariyojana by the National Highway Authority of India, involves constructing a 34-km-long, six-lane ring road encircling the city. It will connect Karnal lake to Meerut road, Kunjpura road, and Indri road, easing traffic congestion on NH-44. The cost will be equally shared between the state government and the Union government. The project aims to enhance transportation infrastructure and improve traffic flow, benefiting both residents and commuters.
