The first-ever High-Speed Rail Project of India: The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train gets into the fast lane. Train bridge to be completed by 2024!
India’s first Bullet Train project, Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) is developing at a high speed. According to the plan, on the upcoming MAHSR corridor, the Bullet Train will operate at a speed of
20-km per hour and will cover a distance of 508 kilometers and 12 railway stations in total.
According to the ministry, the longest bridge on the 508 km Bullet Train Corridor is being constructed on the Narmada river in the city of Bharuch, Gujarat. The longest-ever bridge on the Bullet Train corridor would be 1.2 km long and is set to get completed by 2024.
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is said to have implemented construction on various rives across Gujarat. It is said that the Bullet Train Corridor will have a total of 20 bridges crossing rivers like Narmada, Kaveri, Sabarmati, Daroatha, Mahi, Par, Purna Ambika, Kolak, Daman Ganga, Anuraga, Mindhola, Vishwamitri, Kharera, Dhadhar, Tapi, Kim, Vatrak, Meshwa and Mohar.
According to Pramod Sharma, Managing Director, National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), the Bullet Trains will be equipped with the most advanced signaling system as well as the construction has also adopted the latest technology to minimize the time frame.
Mr. Sharma also adds, with consideration to the tidal effect of the Narmada river, two temporary Access Bridges are being developed in two parts with a gap of 60 meters inside the Narmada stream that will allow navigation.
The project is said to have generated 1.20 lakh direct and indirect jobs. According to the officials, it has also provided 20,000 direct employment and around one lakh indirect jobs in the state.
