Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. has secured a ₹73.12 crore contract from Central Railway for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 110 kV/25kV AC traction substation and associated infrastructure at Vasind, Maharashtra. The project includes a Sectioning and Sub-Sectioning Post (SSP) between Titwala and Khadavli and critical upgrades to the 132kV transmission line using High-Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors.

Mr. Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman & Executive Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, said, “This prestigious order reinforces Texmaco’s strategic role in powering India’s rail infrastructure. By driving railway electrification with indigenous capabilities, we are supporting national priorities in sustainability, job creation, and infrastructure modernisation.”

This substation is part of the capacity augmentation for the Kalyan–Asangaon 4th Line Project, a key railway corridor in the Mumbai Division, aimed at improving energy efficiency, operational reliability, and overall traffic handling across one of India’s most densely used rail sectors.

The project will be executed over 24 months, with all work adhering to approved safety and quality protocols under GCC 2022 guidelines. Materials will be sourced domestically in line with the Government of India’s AatmaNirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.

Mr. Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, added, “The Vasind substation is a critical enabler for seamless operations on the Kalyan–Asangaon route. Our proven expertise, robust delivery systems, and focus on quality position us strongly to execute this project efficiently and reliably.”

Texmaco’s involvement in this critical infrastructure project reaffirms its leadership in India’s railway electrification sector and reflects its commitment to building sustainable, future-ready transport systems. The project is expected to generate employment and spur economic activity in Maharashtra, aligning with the nation’s vision of inclusive, infrastructure-led growth. As India accelerates its focus on logistics, value-chain efficiency, and manufacturing self-reliance, Texmaco Rail & Engineering continues to deliver engineering solutions that move the nation forward.

Over the past several months, Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured a series of strategic orders, both in India and globally, reinforcing its leadership in the rail and infrastructure segment. Domestically, the company has been awarded multiple contracts by the Ministry of Railways for the supply of various categories of freight wagons, including BOXNHL and BFNS models, which continue to form the backbone of India's bulk cargo transportation. Texmaco also recently partnered with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) to execute integrated infrastructure projects that align with the government’s push for enhanced connectivity and electrification. On the international front, the company has won export orders from key African markets, including a wagon supply contract to CAMALCO SA in Cameroon valued at ₹535 crore. These overseas projects highlight Texmaco’s growing footprint in global markets and its ability to meet international standards in engineering, safety, and execution. This robust pipeline of orders not only strengthens Texmaco’s order book but also enhances its visibility as a trusted partner in both emerging and established rail networks across the world.
