RLDA discusses the redevelopment plan of railway lands in Rajasthan with stakeholders
A Meeting was held on 3rd December 2021 with the Developers from Rajasthan and National Capital at the CPM/RLDA office at Jaipur. The meeting was to appraise the various land parcels available for monetization with RLDA in Rajasthan.
The meeting was chaired by Shri V. P. Dudeja, Vice Chairman/RLDA, and
was attended by Member/Planning, ED/Finance, and CPM/ Jaipur from RLDA. GM/NWR
(Shri Vijay Sharma), CAO/C (Shri B. K. Gupta), PCE/NWR (Shri Anil Kumar) also
interacted with the developers to discuss various issues related to the
monetization of Railway Land parcels. The meeting was aimed to appraise the
developers of various opportunities in re-development of Railway Land along
with the building of commercial complexes over prime Railway Lands. Station
redevelopment projects were also discussed. Suggestions from the Developers
were also welcomed.
The meet was attended by renowned developers such as Mahima Group, Trimurti Developers, Suhana Builders, Inception Design Studio, M.A. Architects, R-CUBE Projects Ltd., AZC Trade Company LLP, UAD Infrastructures, and H S Mehta Infra among other well-known Developers of the area.
Rail Land Development Authority
(RLDA) is a statutory authority under the Ministry of Railways for the
development of Railway land. It has four key mandates as a part of its
development plan, namely leasing commercial sites, colony redevelopment,
station redevelopment, and multi-functional complexes.
Indian Railways have approximately
43,000 hectares of vacant land across India. RLDA is currently handling 84
railway colony redevelopment projects and has recently leased out 3 railway
colonies in Guwahati and Secunderabad for redevelopment. RLDA has over 100
commercial (greenfield) sites across India for leasing, and the eligible
developers for each will be selected through an open and transparent bidding
process.
RLDA is now working over Various
Railway stations in a phased manner. In the first phase, RLDA has prioritized
prominent stations like New Delhi, Bijwasan, Lucknow Char Bagh, Gomti Nagar
Lucknow, and Chandigarh. The railway stations across India will be redeveloped
on a PPP/EPC Model as a part of Smart City Projects launched by the Government
of India.
