The central government has greenlit ₹16,240 crore for a massive overhaul of Mumbai's railway network. This revamp includes 301 new tracks, new terminals at Parel and Jogeshwari, and expanded capacity at Bandra, Vasai Road, Mumbai Central, and CSMT. Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will get a facelift to separate local and long-distance services. Parel, Panvel, and Kalyan are set to become pivotal junctions, enhancing connectivity.
