Government Approves Rs. 32,500-cr Rail Multi-Tracking for Congestion Relief
The Indian government has given the green light to seven multi-tracking projects by the Railways Ministry, costing Rs. 32,500 crore, fully funded by the Union Government. These projects, spanning nine states, aim to enhance rail operations, reduce congestion, and promote vital infrastructure development along busy rail sections. The initiatives will extend the railway network by 2339 km, generating 7.06 crore man-days of employment. Alleviating transportation bottlenecks, they align with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, facilitating smooth movement of commodities and bolstering connectivity for people, goods, and services.
