The luxury textile label brings its distinctive world of Indian craftsmanship, heritage weaves and contemporary design to the capital

Luxury textile label Kasturi Kundal has opened its first boutique in Delhi, marking an important milestone in the brand’s growth journey. Following the success of its flagship store in Raipur, the new boutique introduces the label’s thoughtfully curated collection of Indian handlooms to a wider audience.

Envisioned as more than a conventional retail destination, the boutique offers visitors an opportunity to explore textiles that reflect India’s diverse weaving traditions, intricate craftsmanship and timeless design heritage.

Celebrating Craft as Knowledge

Founded in 2019 by Reena Katiyar and Aarushi Katiyar, Kasturi Kundal is guided by the philosophy that “craft is knowledge.”

Every saree and garment begins with the careful selection of yarns and progresses through handloom weaving, detailed embroidery and meticulous finishing. By working closely with artisan communities across India, the brand seeks to preserve traditional skills while interpreting them through a refined and contemporary design language.

The label’s approach places artisans and their knowledge at the centre of the creative process. Each piece is designed to reflect the cultural identity, technical expertise and artistic traditions associated with its place of origin.

Signature Collections on Display

The Delhi boutique showcases Kasturi Kundal’s signature selection of handwoven Banarasi silks, organzas, linens, khaddar and kalamkari textiles. It also brings together collections that have shaped the brand’s distinctive identity.

An Afternoon in Piccadilly reinterprets traditional Banarasi weaving through Victorian-inspired colours and motifs. The collection combines the grandeur of heritage textiles with a sophisticated visual language influenced by classic European design.

Monica draws inspiration from the Art Deco movement, presenting bold geometric forms, vibrant colours and celebrated weaving styles such as Tanchoi and Tissue.

For bridal wear, Ketti Melam pairs intricately woven Banarasi sarees with handcrafted veils. The collection incorporates traditional embroidery techniques, including Zardozi, Aari, Dabka and Dori work, to create richly detailed ceremonial ensembles.

Kasturba celebrates the natural character of hand-spun khaddar through delicate embroidery, while Kora explores the lightness and fluidity of organza silk. Its silhouettes bring together Indian sensibilities and contemporary styling.

Completing the boutique’s textile narrative is Rati, a tribute to Banaras and its master weavers. The collection showcases time-honoured weaving techniques such as Kadhua, Jaal, Jangla and Tanchoi.

Creating Heirlooms for Generations

Speaking on the launch, Reena Katiyar, Founder, Kasturi Kundal, said, “Every textile tells the story of the hands that created it. At Kasturi Kundal, our endeavour has always been to honour that legacy with authenticity and respect while creating pieces that can be treasured for generations.”

“Opening our first store in Delhi is a meaningful milestone, allowing us to share these stories with a city that deeply values craft and culture,” she added.

Aarushi Katiyar, Co-founder, Kasturi Kundal, said, “We have always believed that heritage and contemporary design can exist in harmony. Our Delhi boutique has been envisioned as more than a retail space—it is a place where visitors can engage with Indian textiles, discover the remarkable craftsmanship behind every collection and experience the enduring beauty of handloom.”

The Delhi boutique represents the next phase of Kasturi Kundal’s efforts to preserve India’s textile traditions while making handcrafted luxury accessible to a broader audience. Through its collections, the label aims to ensure that every weave carries its history forward and every creation has the potential to become a cherished heirloom.
