Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched and set the cornerstone for several development projects in Gujarat, totalling more than 3,000,000,000 Indian rupees.

During his speech to Khudvel, a tribal area in Navsari, the Prime Minister said that the people of Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi in South Gujarat would benefit significantly from the completion of these projects.

Mr Modi said that continual welfare and development initiatives have long been a part of his governing style and that the goals of these programmes, which he described as being targeted at the well-being of the people and Garib Kalyan, go far beyond electoral concern.

Mr Modi has said that Gujarat's fast and inclusive growth over the last two decades and a new ambition formed from this success are the state's most outstanding achievements.

He remarked that to empower the poor fully, the government had begun a programme of completely saturating the social agenda. Mr Modi said that the government's efforts to include more people and areas in the development process and their hopes for the future had been successful.
