PM Modi visits the new dairy complex and potato processing plant for the inauguration
Gujarat’s new dairy complex and potato processing plant at Diyodar, Banaskantha district was inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19th April 2022, Tuesday. The plant was built at the cost of Rs 600 crores and is said to emerge as a bigger medium of farmers' income and will flourish in the future.
The new dairy complex has the capacity to process about 30 lakh litres of milk, and produce about 80 tonnes of butter, 20 tonnes of condensed milk, one lakh litres of ice cream, and six tonnes of chocolate per day. With a vision to export in other countries, the potato processing plant will produce different types of processed potato products such as chips, aloo tikki, french fries, patties etc.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Modi said that “The new development initiatives at Banas Dairy will empower farmers, women, and boost the rural economy. We can experience how cooperative movement can give strength to Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign.”
As PM Modi praised the effort of local communities and the cooperative dairy sector in creating livelihood opportunities for locals, he also said that the development taking place in Gujarat fills one with a sense of pride. Mr. Modi also praised the dairy projects in Gobardhan, saying “these plants will benefit by maintaining cleanliness in villages, giving income to farmers for gobar, producing electricity and protecting the earth by the nature manure.”
The Prime Minister also tweeted “I am delighted to be visiting Banas Dairy yet again. I had last visited the Dairy in 2016. That time a series of products of the Dairy were launched. I had also visited the Dairy in 2013. Here are glimpses from both programmes.”
