L&T bags a “significant order” for its water and effluent treatment business
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction, India’s largest construction and organisation also ranked among the world’s top contractors has secured a contract for its water and effluent treatment business. The construction arm has bagged the contract on 19th April 2022, Tuesday to construct and commission water supply schemes for various towns in Tanzania.
The multinational company classifies the order as ‘significant’ as it is worth between Rs.1000 to 2500 crore and further says that the project will be funded by EXIM Bank of India.
The company announced in a statement that it has won an order from a state-utility organisation, the Uttar Pradesh State Water & Sanitation to implement rural water supply projects, providing Functional House Tap Connections (FHTC) under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The business has been entrusted to implement rural water supply projects catering to the potable water requirement of 1900 villages in the Prayagraj Revenue Division of Prayagraj district.
The scope comprises the construction of tube wells, pump houses cum chlorination rooms, overhead tanks, treatment systems, solar plants, rising main and distribution pipeline network, staff quarters, individual house connections, etc including allied electromechanical and automation works.
The business has already executed water supply schemes in the districts of Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakot, Gonda, Varanasi, Sonbhadram Balrampur, and Shravasti.
