Union Budget's Historic ₹11.11 Lakh Cr Allocation to Propel Infrastructure Growth
The Union Budget,
presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, earmarks a record ₹11.11 lakh
crore for infrastructure, comprising 3.4% of GDP, emphasizing its critical role
in economic growth. Andhra Pradesh benefits from an initial ₹15,000 crore allocation
to honor the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act commitments, with further
funding promised. Bihar secures major projects, including expressways and
industrial hubs, amounting to ₹26,000 crore. The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak
Yojana (PMGSY) Phase IV aims to connect 25,000 rural areas. Additionally,
₹11,500 crore is dedicated to Bihar's irrigation and flood control, while
Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Sikkim receive support for flood and
landslide management.
