REC Commits Rs. 40,358-cr for Odisha Power Infrastructure
Rural Electrification
Corporation (REC) has inked three significant Memorandums of Understanding
(MoUs) amounting to Rs. 40,358 crore to bolster Odisha's energy infrastructure.
Collaborating with Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC), REC will finance
the development of a 660 MWx2 thermal power project in Jharsuguda, amounting to
Rs. 9,538 crore. REC has also partnered with Acme Group, committing Rs. 16,000
crore for a green hydrogen and ammonia facility in Gopalpur, promoting
sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, an agreement with Avaada Group
involves Rs. 15,000 crore funding for another green hydrogen and ammonia
facility in Gopalpur, marking a significant stride toward clean
energy initiatives.
