India-Israel G2G Boost: Construction Aid Faces Hurdles Amid Arrival Challenges
Over 60 Indian workers
have arrived in Israel to aid the construction sector, aiming to address a
significant shortage. However, slow bureaucratic procedures have hindered the
process, with only 1,000 workers out of 20,000 approved having arrived so far.
Discussions persist to expedite arrivals, while previous plans for hiring
160,000 Indian workers remain on the table. An agreement for 42,000 workers in
construction and nursing was signed earlier, with 18,000 Indians already in
Israel, attracted by security and salaries. Additionally, Indian participation
in the agriculture sector has seen recent growth.
