The Indian government has approved the ₹10,900 crore PM E-DRIVE scheme, set to replace the FAME initiative and drive the transition to electric mobility. Over the next two years, the scheme will support 25 lakh electric two-wheelers, 3.16 lakh three-wheelers, and 14,028 electric buses. Additionally, it allocates ₹3,435 crore to ensure the smooth operation of 38,000 electric buses across urban areas. The scheme also offers ₹3,679 crore in subsidies for a range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, e-ambulances, and e-trucks, aiming to accelerate the adoption of green transportation solutions across India.
