The Bhogapuram International Greenfield Airport, a collaboration between GMR Group and APADCL, is a major project in Andhra Pradesh. The airport, spanning 2,203.26 acres, will be developed in three phases under a Public-Private Partnership. Phase 1, set for completion by December 2024, involves a 3,800-meter runway and capacity for 6 million passengers annually. The project emphasizes environmental sustainability and social development. As of September 2023, fencing and office building construction are completed, and the tender for an EPC contractor is under evaluation. The project aims to transform Vizianagaram's aviation landscape, promoting economic growth in the region.
