Ingersoll Rand Introduces RSbn Nirvana Series Screw Air Compressors in India
• Re-invents compressed air efficiency with inbuilt VFD and IE5 permanent magnet motor technology
• Delivers significant energy savings and lower operating costs for variable-duty industrial applications
Ingersoll Rand (India) Ltd, a global leader in compressed air and industrial solutions, has announced the launch of its RSbn Nirvana Series Screw Air Compressors in India. Designed to help industries reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency, the RSbn Nirvana Series is available in the 7 kW to 250 kW range and comes equipped with an inbuilt Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and high-efficiency IE5 Permanent Magnet (PM) motor.
Ingersoll Rand’s RSbn Nirvana Series screw air compressors are engineered to deliver optimal energy performance for industries operating under variable load conditions. Designed to align compressed air output precisely with real-time demand, the RSbn Nirvana Series helps eliminate energy losses commonly associated with conventional load–unload compressor operation. As Indian industries face rising energy costs and increasing pressure to improve operational efficiency, optimizing compressed air utilities—one of the most energy-intensive components in manufacturing—has become a critical priority across sectors such as textiles, general manufacturing, and process industries.
Commenting on the launch, Guru Kabad, Senior Product Manager – Contact Cooled Rotary and Small Air Compression Systems & Services – India & SAARC, Ingersoll Rand (India) Ltd, said, “The RSbn Nirvana Series is tailor-made for industries such as textiles, where compressor duty cycles can vary anywhere between 30% and 90%. With inbuilt VFD and IE5 Permanent Magnet motor technology, the RSbn Nirvana Series delivers substantial energy savings, helping our customers reduce operating costs and become more competitive in their end products.”
The RSbn Nirvana Series addresses these challenges through its integrated VFD, which continuously monitors air demand and dynamically adjusts compressor speed. When air demand drops to zero, the compressor automatically stops, eliminating idle power consumption. These energy savings are further enhanced by the IE5 Permanent Magnet motor, which delivers superior efficiency across a wide operating range, particularly under partial-load conditions where conventional motors typically lose efficiency.
Engineered for durability and consistent performance, the RSbn Nirvana Series is ideally suited for industries with fluctuating demand patterns throughout the day, across seasons, and between operating shifts. In applications such as knitting, weaving, and garment finishing in the textile industry, compressors often run at partial or no load for extended periods. By intelligently responding to real-time demand, the RSbn Nirvana Series ensures customers pay only for the compressed air they actually use, significantly reducing electricity consumption and total cost of ownership.
Launched recently in India, the RSbn Nirvana Series has already begun delivering measurable results by lowering operating costs and improving energy efficiency for customers. The series has gained recognition for combining advanced motor and drive technology with a practical, application-focused design that directly addresses real-world industrial operating conditions.
With its strong focus on energy efficiency, intelligent control, and customer profitability, the RSbn Nirvana Series further reinforces Ingersoll Rand’s commitment to supporting Indian industries in their transition toward more sustainable and cost-effective operations. Backed by global engineering expertise, a strong local presence, and a robust service network, Ingersoll Rand continues to deliver solutions that help customers build resilient and future-ready manufacturing systems.
