Electricity pylon foundations for supply security and grid stability during the clean energy transition, formed with PASCHAL formwork
Following the successful completion of foundation work in batches 4 and 6, construction work is now proceeding in batch 3.
The planned high-voltage power line will connect the grid nodes of Wahle in Lower Saxony and Mecklar in the Ludwigsau community in North Hessen.
This link, approximately 230 kilometre in length, will increase the transmission capacity for wind energy along the North-South axis and will, in future, assure the supply security and network stability in Lower Saxony and North Hessen.
The entire route is divided in four sections, A to D
In section D, batches 4 and 6, a total of 45 foundations were constructed by LTB Leitungsbau GmbH and GVS-Energie GmbH using the LOGO.3 wall formwork system with special circular formwork elements. Now, batch 3 will involve the construction of another 76 foundations.
To make this work even more efficient, all segments of the forthcoming individual foundations will all be circular in shape. At short notice, PASCHAL produced additional circular formwork elements. These supplement the existing PASCHAL circular formwork elements from batch 4.
19 Electricity pylons
For each electricity pylon, the structural design con-tains a base plate up to one meter thick per pylon base. LOGO.3 wall formwork elements will be used. These will be followed by stepped, barrel-shaped steel-reinforced concrete structures. The diameter of these bases shall vary in accordance with the inter-mediate steps and top sections required.
To enable formwork to be installed during batch 3 without a tower crane, its dimensions were carefully matched to fit. The circular formwork for diameters of 110 to 180 cm consists of 2 segments in three differ-ent formwork element heights. The circular formwork was divided into four segments for the 250 cm diame-ter, with construction heights of 150 and 100 cm.
Working platforms for occupational safety
To enable work to be done quickly and safely, PAS-CHAL also produced some safe platform brackets with rounded board. These working platforms are also an indispensable aid for producing the tapered surface of the foundation caps.
First time with a repeat factor
In batch 4, the two
construction companies are work-ing for the first time with formwork from
PASCHAL. These steel-reinforced concrete specialists were pleasantly surprised
by how easy this formwork is to work with. As a result, PASCHAL continues to be
pre-ferred as a supplier and its formwork is being used in the latest
construction phase.
At LTB Leitungsbau GmbH, Site Manager Rene Wolf is responsible for construction work, and at GVS-Energie GmbH, the two Managing Directors Andreas Grätz and Steffen Jurisch are in charge. All three construction specialists are entirely delighted with the quality of formwork and with the reliability in terms of on-time delivery and consultation sessions. The same is true of the level of service and support pro-vided by the formwork advisors.
