Kolkata's Syama Prasad Mookherjee Port (SMP) and NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) have signed an MoU to establish a green hydrogen and ammonia hub. The joint effort aims to explore production, storage, and export opportunities for green hydrogen and ammonia, aligning with India's National Hydrogen Mission. The project, spanning 300-500 acres, will involve feasibility studies and land assessment. This initiative supports India's goal to export 5 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. By decarbonizing port operations, the collaboration contributes to a net-zero ecosystem and promotes cleaner fuels.
