The Union Cabinet authorised a public-private partnership project to construct Tuna-Tekra, Deendayal Port in Gujarat. The concessionaire would spend Rs 4,243.64 crore, and the concessioning authority will spend Rs 296.20 crore on common user amenities.

During the concession time, the concessionaire may accommodate boats up to 18 metres deep by deepening/widening its approach channel, berth pocket, and turning circle.

Deendayal Port, one of India's 12 main ports, sits in Gujarat's Gulf of Kutch. The project will be constructed by a private developer/BOT operator chosen via international auction.

The concessionaire will design, engineer, finance, purchase, execute, commission, operate, manage, and maintain the project.
