In a powerful testament to
innovation, design excellence, and evolving hygiene standards, TOTO proudly
announces that its flagship smart toilet, NEOREST, has surpassed 4 million
units shipped globally as of March 2025.
What began in 1993 as an
ambitious challenge to “break the conventional notion of toilets” has now
become a category-defining product. Over the past years, NEOREST has
consistently pushed boundaries by incorporating both cutting-edge technology
and minimalist design, winning prestigious international design awards like the
iF Design Award, Red Dot, and Green Good Design Awards. Today, NEOREST is one
of the signature products of TOTO, used widely not only in Japan but around the
world. In addition, the cumulative number of toilets integrated WASHLET shipped
since their launch in 1987 has now exceeded 13 million units as of July 2024,
including NEOREST.
TOTO will continue to drive
the evolution of NEOREST in line with the needs of each country and region,
spreading a clean and comfortable toilet culture to all over the world.
Breaking away from conventional ideas of what
a toilet should be, TOTO combined all of its technologies to launch NEOREST
development project, with the aim of creating a next-generation toilet offering
the highest levels of satisfaction to customers in terms of both function and
design.- As a result of this project, TOTO became the first in the industry to
develop a tankless design toilet integrated WASHLET.
From its revolutionary
tankless design to sophisticated smart features such as EWATER+, self-cleaning,
RIMLESS, CEFIONTECT glaze, TORNADO FLUSH, AIR-IN WONDER-WAVE, and automatic lid
operation, NEOREST has redefined what a toilet can be—smart yet sustainable.
The introduction of EWATER+ in 2011 marked a major leap in hygiene, using
electrolyzed water to clean both the wand and bowl.

solutions. Over the last few years, TOTO India has observed a steady rise in
adoption of luxury bath ware across architects, designers, and premium
homeowners gravitating toward products that merge sustainability with sophistication.
