The face of East African construction industry is fast changing & Uganda which is known as Pearl of Africa plays an important role for an upliftment of construction growth in East Africa. Uganda is owing to rapid urbanisation, strong economic growth, a rising middle class and regional integration that make for the ever-increasing demand in Africa's construction industry, as big infrastructure projects get under way on the continent. This development leaves industry stakeholders considering ways to branch out. FUTUREX TRADE FAIR AND EXHIBITIONS PVT LTD & ETSIPL organised first ever and largest exhibition Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2022 from 11th – 13th August 2022. Expo was supported by Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development of Uganda, UNABCEC (Uganda National Association of Building & Civil Engineering Contractors), Uganda Society of Architects, Uganda Solar Association, Uganda Institute of Surveyors, National Housing Board of Uganda & Rajkot Hardware Manufacturers Association.
Exhibition was Inaugurated by Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza (State Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Ministry of Lands.), H.E.A. Ajay Kumar (High Commissioner India to Uganda), Mrs. Dorcas W. Okalany (Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development), Mr. Khayangayanga Dave (Director, Housing & Urban Development), Ms. Amamda Ngabirano (Chairperson, National Physical Board, Uganda), Mr. Robert Mukiza (Executive Director, Uganda Investment Authority), Mr. Birungi Daniel (Executive Director, UMA), Dr. Ssenabulya Emmanuel (President, Society Of Architects), Mr. Manish Patel (President, Rajkot Hardware Manufacturer Association), Swami Prem (Managing Director, Futurex Group), Mr. Digvijay Singh, CEO, ETSIPL.
Mr. Namit Gupta, Director – Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd says - The theme of the expo is to build Uganda which is focuses on sustainable infrastructure development and focused on newer technologies that will take the place of traditional technologies to improve efficiency in construction activities. More than 110 + companies participated from 8+ Countries and expo was welcomed by complete Uganda and there was prodigious response to all participants. As infrastructure development is already making progress in Uganda, we need to start preparing for the surging demand in the coming years. This will ensure that not only is the industry growing in size, but also creating opportunities of scale for Indian and Overseas Companies to penetrate in East African Market where business is Phenomenal. Uganda Buildcon 2022 will play an important role in the adoption of world class technologies for speedy implementation of infrastructure projects in the country.
