Give us brief overview of the Genset market across India and where JCB stands in that context. What are future plans in capturing the market share?
The Indian Diesel Generator market witnessed growth over the past few months, primarily due to the execution of projects in the Roads and Highways sector and other construction projects. Small and Medium Enterprises have also been driving the demand for Gensets. Increasing urbanisation is also paving way for a sustained demand for power.
At JCB, we are committed to addressing this growing requirement with our safe and sturdy range of Gensets. JCB generators are designed to meet customers' requirements in terms of performance, serviceability, strength, safety, and space.
We recently introduced two world class variants in India – the 125kVA and the 160kVA and they have been well received in the market. With these new additions, we now offer an extensive range starting from 63 KVA to 160 KVA. Our Diesel Gensets are known for offering the best in class technology and productivity with special focus on features that help in reducing the carbon footprint.
Demand for Gensets is likely increase in the coming years. Growth in infrastructure sector will be one of the key demand drivers for the sector coupled with the growing demand in the residential and commercial sector.
What are your plans to meet the new demand coming up as Government is giving lot of emphasis on the infrastructure sector?
Infrastructure sector is one of the core sectors of the Indian economy and thus, hold immense importance in the overall growth of the country. Government's concerted efforts in the past three years through various policy reforms, programmes and budget announcements are promising for the Infrastructure sector.
Moreover, the announcement of construction of 83,667 kilometres of highways under the Bharatmala project and recpatilisation of banks through record capital infusion of Rs 2.11 lakh crore over two years will give a boost to the economy.
At JCB, we are fully geared up with our world class range of equipment to leverage the opportunity. We have made some new and innovative additions in our product portfolio in the last one year and have transformed into a full range Infrastructure Equipment partner.
Today, we offer a range of Large Excavators starting from 20T Excavator to 30T Excavator – the JS205LC (20T Tracked Excavator), the JCB 220LC Xtra (22T Tracked Excavator) and the JCB305LC (30T Tracked Excavator) along with a range of Road Construction Solutions, specifically catering to the Roads and Highways segment.
For the Road sector, we currently offer the finest range of Compactors through these three variants - the recently introduced JCB116 (11T Soil Compactor), the VMT860eco (9T Tandem Roller) and the VMT330 (3.3T Mini Tandem Roller).
Also, product support plays a crucial role in the overall buying cycle of an Earthmoving and Construction Equipment. At JCB, over the years, we have set-up the largest product support network in the industry with 63 dealers and 650 outlets. These outlets are spread across India, employing over 6,000 trained professionals to cater to different customer requirements.
Internet of Things (IOT) is going be the next game changer in the manufacturing industry and JCB has pioneered the integration of IOT within its earthmoving and construction equipment range. JCB introduced an Advanced Telematics Technology called Livelink which allows the user to remotely manage their machines. Today, over 40,000 Livelink enabled machines are successfully working in India.
It not only gives users the location of their equipment in real time, but also relays back machine related information which can be accessed by customers, dealers and JCB.
The Livelink strives to deliver constructive, real-time information to increase profits and improve productivity. Both, the equipment owners and operators can access information such as fuel consumption, ideal time, machine location, fluid levels and service alerts on their mobile devices or laptops using the internet.
Our objective is to ensure that the machine is always healthy and gives the highest level of performance. The JCB Livelink technology helps in informing users by SMS alerts, the location and condition of their JCB machines. Geo fencing and Time fencing features also give out SMS alerts whenever the machine moves out of the designated, pre-determined geographical areas. This feature also works when the machine is being operated beyond the time that the customer has preset.
Livelink has significantly helped in better fleet management of JCB products for our customers. It has also resulted in our product support network being able to provide world class support through preventive maintenance.
Additionally, JCB also introduced the Premier Lines Solutions for its range of products. This facility includes the options of having trained service engineers along with Parts stock on site.
