Trikon Machine Pvt. Ltd
What motivated your company to participate in this Uganda Buildcon International Expo?
Africa is a developing continent and there are many opportunities for Indian companies to expand their footprint. Uganda is particularly a peaceful country in the East African area and has a good potential in roads, buildings, hydroelectric projects and other basic infrastructure as the government is looking to make investments in these sectors. As the country is coming out of covid related slow down, we expect speed of development to increase to make up for time lost.
What product/services did your company display at the Expo?
We promoted our range in spares parts for aggregate processing plants like Stone crushers, Concrete and Asphalt Batch Mix plants and Concrete Pumps.
How was the response? Did you have spot sales/booking during the Expo?
Response was encouraging as we got to meet stakeholders and general people which helped us in understanding the needs of the market and to prepare us for a push forward. We do not expect such shows to give spot sales or bookings as we consider brand promotion and awareness as the major objective.
Do you have your presence in Uganda? Or was this your first experience?
We are already in the Ugandan market for last 10 years. Due to covid travel was restricted during the last almost 2.5 years, as we took this show as on opportunity to meet our existing customers as well as new ones.
What have you learned during the exhibition, write your favourite experience or moment of the event?
The show was opened by the Hon'ble minister for Land and Housing of Uganda government and she mentioned that Indian diaspora settled in Uganda has been at the forefront of development in last many decades. Her observations that India and Uganda share many things are like brothers was a positive experience for us as it makes us feel welcome to the country.
Would you include Uganda in your marketing strategy now?
It was already a part of our strategy for future business development and will continue to be in future.
