Managing Partner, ADI CONTROLS

As a specialized manufacturer of precision load cells, force sensors, and industrial instrumentation, how valuable are large trade shows like bauma for showcasing critical components that usually operate behind the scenes in heavy machinery?

Adi Controls: People usually look at the big steel structures on a construction site or a massive concrete plant, but the actual accuracy and safety come down to the instrumentation tucked away inside. Trade shows like bauma give us a great chance to step out from behind the curtain. It lets us show engineers and equipment designers the fine detail and calibration work that goes into our sensors so everything runs safely and reliably out in the field.

When meeting equipment manufacturers and project contractors on the ground at bauma, what were the primary performance or safety challenges they brought up regarding load monitoring and weighing systems?

Adi Controls: The biggest thing everyone talks about is how unforgiving construction and mining sites are. Machines take a constant beating from vibration, dust, moisture, and extreme weather shifts. If a load cell or safety indicator packs up on a crane or a batching plant, it stops the whole job right there, or worse, creates a dangerous situation. Manufacturers were mostly looking for gear that can take that kind of punishment day in and day out without drifting out of calibration.

From pancake and shear beam load cells to advanced digital load controllers, how have customer expectations shifted over the past few years regarding precision, durability, and harsh environment endurance?

Adi Controls: Years ago, people just wanted a general weight reading on a dial. Now, OEMs and plant operators expect high-precision digital stability, even when the load is shifting or off-center. Whether it is an S-beam for batching or a shear beam for a heavy weighbridge, customers want solid sealing and high overload protection so they do not have to keep halting operations to recalibrate things.

With automation, digital telemetry, and smart sensor integration becoming central to modern construction equipment, how is Adi Controls adapting its product lines to meet the demand for real-time data tracking and overload protection?

Adi Controls: We are working hard to connect physical force sensing with smart digital tracking. Aside from making rugged sensors, we have expanded our range of digital controllers, microprocessor indicators, and wireless transmitters. These do more than just show a number; they react instantly, manage tare weights, and trigger warnings or cut-offs if a machine is overloaded, helping operators keep things safe and connected to their main control systems.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, what new technical developments or application-specific measurement solutions is Adi Controls most excited to bring to the heavy engineering sector?

Adi Controls: For the rest of the year, we are focusing heavily on expanding our smart digital load cells and wireless monitoring setups built specifically for mobile equipment and automated batching plants. We are tweaking our R&D to make them even tougher against harsh elements while making it easier for OEMs to plug them into their systems. At the end of the day, we just want to make sure every lift and batch goes off without a hitch.
