This month is set to
witness one of the most awaited events in the construction industry – EXCON 23.
This mega event for construction equipment and technology is scheduled to take
place from 12 to 16 December 2023 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre
(BIEC) in Bangalore, India.
EXCON 23, International
Construction Equipment and Technology Trade Fair is organised by Confederation
of Indian Industry (CII), India's Premier Industry Association. The Indian
Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA) is the sector partner
for the event and, Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) and the
Builders Association of India (BAI) are supporting partners.
The theme for this twelfth
edition of EXCON is “Building India’s Tomorrow”. This theme encompasses the
fundamental pillars of Technology, Globalisation, Sustainability, and
Inclusivity. EXCON 2023 stands poised to not only propel India's march towards
progress but also to emerge as a global testament to our robust infrastructure
development, reaffirming our stature as a leading destination for international
construction investments.
The first edition of Excon
was launched in the year 2000, at a time when the construction industry was at
a preliminary stage. From the first edition, Excon has grown to become one of
the top exhibitions in the world for this sector. Excon has retained the
position of “South Asia’s Largest Event for Construction Equipment” for the
last 6 editions.
EXCON 23 will have an
exhibition area covering over 3 lakh square metres, showcasing more than 1400
exhibitors from India and abroad including countries like the USA, UK, France,
Germany, Italy, UAE, South Korea, Singapore, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Romania and
Czech Republic. The 5-day exhibition would attract over 80,000 business
visitors from all over the world.

EXCON 23 include an exclusive focus on Alternate Fuels, AI Pavilion, Aatma
Nirbhar Bharat, Skills, Women operating construction equipment and machinery,
Conferences on Defence & Paramilitary; Green Construction focusing on
Sustainability; AI & IOT and Automation in the Construction Engineering
Sector amongst others.
EXCON serves as a
dual-purpose platform, offering opportunities for both marketing and education
to all stakeholders. Government officials and senior bureaucrats have leveraged
it as an educational forum for multiple departments, including Public Works
Departments (PWDs) and Civil Engineering Departments, private contractors,
builders, road and infrastructure developers, smart city and urban planning
experts, the army, and Border Roads Organisations. This platform enables them
to observe the latest displays of technology, equipment, and machinery,
facilitating the nation’s accelerated infrastructure development requirements.
