The 12th edition of EXCON exhibition held last month, December 2023, in Bangalore not only provided platform to the manufacturers for displaying and demonstrating their products but also witnessed the launching of many new equipment and products from the industry players.

SANY India unveiled an array of revolutionary construction equipment

SANY India taking great pride in being recognized as “Naye Bharat ka Nirmata” launched 15 new machines, including cutting-edge electric machines designed for diverse applications such as earthwork, excavation, heavy lifting, deep foundation works, mining operations, road construction, and port equipment

The newly launched electric machines includes Electric Wheel Loader SW956E, Electric Large Excavator SY870E and Electric Reach Stacker SRSC45E3.

Redefining the crane technology, SANY launched the 1st Hybrid Truck Crane STC600T 5-P in India. It has diesel and electric mode for crane operation.

SANY also introduced 1st 150Ton crawler crane SCS1500A with luffing jib configuration in India, and new generation 60T SCS600A and 80T SCS800A crawler cranes.

Other debutants are Ultra Large Excavators' 135T class SY1350C-10HD and SY680C-10HD for mining sector; 20Ton class excavator SY210C-9 SPARC, 37Ton class customized excavator SY365C-9LA and 35Ton SPARC series excavator SY350C-9HD SPARC in Midsize Excavator segment; and 15Ton Small Excavator SY150C-9S PRO, and all new SANY SMG200 AWD Motor Grader.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India unveiled range of electric machines

Leading the charge towards more sustainable operations in mining, material handling, steel, cement, and urban infrastructure sectors, Volvo CE unveiled range of electric machines.

With the first-of-its-kind commercial launch of EC500 Electric, India's first grid-connected electric excavator in the 50-ton class, Volvo CE pioneers a transition to zero-emission mining and construction machinery.

In addition to this, the transformative potential of the L120 Electric Wheel Loader which was a pilot launch offered a glimpse into the future of material handling at ports, mines, plants, and other construction sites, offering no tailpipe emissions, near-silent operations, and a more comfortable work environment for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications.

EC80 Electric, an addition to its already existing compact EC55 electric, used for urban construction and forestry, was also showcased as a near-production prototype.

CASE Construction Equipment unveils cutting-edge innovations

CASE Construction Equipment, a CNH Industrial trademark, declared their preparation for BS (CEV) V compliance by presenting their flagship Backhoe Loader - 770 NX Plus and Soil Compactor 1107 NX-PD. It also made its debut in two new categories in India, introducing an all-new Skid Steer Loader - SSL 175 and small machines via micro Excavator - CX 35D to its local product line.

Furthermore, the company showcased ten new and enhanced products and services, including an Electric Mini Excavator and a range of industry-leading Vibratory Compactors, Excavators, and Motor Graders with a variety of attachments, as well as the all-new FLEETPROTM, a value line components offering.

Tata Hitachi launched 4 new products and 2 new attachments along with futuristic electric machines

Tata Hitachi's presence at EXCON 2023 reaffirmed the company's position as an industry leader dedicated to driving innovation and shaping the future of construction equipment by introducing cutting-edge technology, innovative solutions, and sustainable practices.

Demonstrating obligation towards environmental sustainability, Tata Hitachi unveiled technologically advanced futuristic electric machines that included the ZAXIS 55U-6EB  (Electric Battery) and India's first indigenously developed E Electric concept mini excavator.

Tata Hitachi also launched four new products - EX 210LC PRIME, ZAXIS 220LC ULTRA, EX235 LC-VR and ZAXIS 490H ULTRA, along with 2 new attachments Vibro Ripper and Drum Cutter.

Schwing Stetter India announced new product lines, enters CE-subsegments

Schwing Stetter India enters CE-subsegments with announcement of new product line-ups. Schwing Stetter launched 31 new products for mining, shipping, and road & highway infrastructure industries, including port container handling, mining support, and road patching equipment at the show.

The launched vehicles will strengthen the Schwing Stetter's ecosystem and help address the pain points of the CE-subsegments – mining, ports, material handling and road and highway infrastructure in India.

KYB Conmat unveiled 5 new products, 3 new Self Loading Mixers CSLM 2500, CSLM 4200L, CSLM 4300S, Soil Compactor, and Wheel loader.

After establishing the company as one of the best company in the concrete equipment industry, KYB Conmat has now expanded their product range to earth moving industry as well, launching Soil Compactor CCO 1170 S and Wheel loader in addition to 3 New Self Loading Mixers.

Mahindra launched BLAZO X m-DURA tipper and the new CEV5 range of construction equipment.

TATA Motors unveiled eco-friendly range of commercial vehicles

Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, unveiled its innovative and advanced range of future ready mobility solutions.

Tata Motors launched its green, eco-friendly range of commercial vehicles powered by green fuels, including Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and battery electric. It also unveiled its wide range of aggregates, including engines designed for industrial equipment, axles and gensets.

Tata Motors made a significant stride in sustainable transportation with the commercial launch of its LNG-powered Tata Prima range of trucks and tippers, a pioneering achievement that includes the Tata Prima 5528.S LNG and India's first LNG-powered tipper, the Tata Prima 3528.K LNG.

Additionally, Tata Motors also unveiled a line-up of high-performance trucks, including the Tata Prima 2830.TK VX and Tata Signa 3530.TK VX, tailored for diverse construction applications.

Tata Motors also unveiled its comprehensive range of aggregates that includes fuel-efficient Tata Motors Gensets with power range spanning from 25kVA to 125kVA and backed by advanced CPCB IV+ compliant engines, new-age CEV BS V industrial engines in 55-138hp power nodes, live axles, catering to a wide spectrum of load and torque requirements and trailer axles.

Propel Industries launched indigenous EV Dump Trucks

Propel Industries Private Limited, a leader in the Crushing and Screening Equipment sector, unveiled two variations of EV Dump Trucks. The Electric Vehicle Dump Trucks – 470 MEV and 470 HEV with gross vehicle weights of 45 and 60 respectively and have been designed and manufactured in India.

Scania unveiled the G500 8×4 Super Heavy Tipper

Swedish commercial vehicle major Scania which has been focussing on niche applications for its products in India unveiled the G500 8×4 Super Heavy Tipper, a ground-breaking addition to its fleet of mining tippers.

Engineered to meet the toughest emission standards globally, the G500 Super boasts a low-emission, biodiesel/FAME-compatible engine in the 500-horsepower range, making it the epitome of fuel efficiency. Cummins introduced an innovative Fuel Management System.

Cummins India Limited, a prominent power solutions technology provider, in collaboration with Repos Energy introduced DATUM (Data Automated Teller Ultimate Machine), an innovative Fuel Management System.

DATUM aims to address the various challenges encountered by customers currently in managing fuel operations, such as complex procurement processes, fuel pilferage, high dead-mileage operations, and imbalanced diesel inventory by providing a solution.

DATUM relies on sensors and digital technologies to offer real-time updates on fuel inventory and consumption across multiple installations. The smart and certified fuel storage solution facilitates remote monitoring of fuel levels, issues alerts for low fuel levels, and supports 24×7 doorstep delivery of diesel.

The DATUM range includes different variants based on applications, such as Datum X for stationary genset applications, DATUM Y and DATUM Z with a dispenser for fleet owners of diesel equipment and on-highway vehicles.

Caterpillar Introduced the C13D Engine in India

Caterpillar made a significant impact at EXCON 2023 by unveiling its latest innovation, the Cat C13D engine. Engineered for heavy-duty off-highway applications, the C13D promises best-in-class power density, torque, and fuel efficiency. With eight power ratings ranging from 340 to 515 kW, the platform is set to commence production in 2026, complying with various emissions standards. Notably, the C13D platform offers an opportunity for OEMs to downsize, simplifying design and supply chain requirements.

Ashok Leyland unveiled a range of products including hydrogen powered engine AL H2ICE

Ashok Leyland unveiled a range of products, including H4 and H6 diesel engines, hydrogen-based H6 engines, gensets, exhaust after-treatment systems, and DEF tanks.

Apart from H4 CRS Diesel engine - 74hp -130hp CEV Stage V and H6 Engine - AL H6 Diesel engines - 133hp -225hp CEV Stage V, Ashok Leyland launched Hydrogen powered H6 Engine - AL H2ICE. Hydrogen powered, a renewable and clean energy source, AL H2ICE maintains an overall architecture similar to a conventional diesel-based combustion engine thus helping quicker migration to cleaner energy sources at a relatively lower cost delta. This engine is first of its kind for Off-highway applications.

The company also launched 40 kVA Genset, LEYPOWER, offering global-standard, an affordable diesel generators that meet the latest Indian (CPCB 4+) and international norms.

Kohler unveiled its Stage V-compliant KDI

Kohler, a renowned name in powertrain manufacturing, has unveiled its Stage V-compliant KDI engines for construction equipment vehicles

This achievement encompasses three models within the KDI engine family: KDI-TC 1903 model in the 19 –37 kW range and KDI-TCR 1903 and KDI-TCR 2504 models spanning the 37-56 kW range.

BKT unveiled advanced All-Steel Radial tires

BKT 'Bharat Ka Tires' unveiled advanced mobility solutions for Bharat's construction, industrial, mining, and earthmoving sectors.

The Off-highway tire major showcased some of its finest tires for construction, industrial, and earthmoving equipment namely the EARTHMAX SR468 and EARTHMAX SR53. Along with the newly introduced rubber tracks Multiforce BK T91 for the compact track loaders.

The star highlight of the event was the Giant EARTHMAX SR 468, the advanced All-Steel Radial tire specially designed for rigid haul trucks. Its unique tread design with special tread compounds makes it perfect for hard, rocky, and tough mining conditions.
